BODISM
The theme of this work is bodism, exploring the human form as an abstract, almost sculptural entity. I was inspired by the powerful imagery of Tim Tadder, the intense red tones of Alexander McQueen’s AW98 collection, and the geometric boldness found in the works of Anish Kapoor, who also frequently utilizes red to convey depth and intensity. Additionally, Spencer Tunick’s performance “THE RING” influenced my approach to the human body as a collective, yet distant figure.
Through this piece, I aimed to express passion, mystery, and sensuality, while simultaneously conveying detachment and cold-bloodedness, contrasting with the fiery red color. The result is a visual paradox—emotions are suggested yet withheld, evoking an enigmatic and almost stoic presence amidst the vivid backdrop.
